The CFT Scorer was developed by Joe Gubbay, clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist.
Joe has been practising for ten years in Sydney, Australia, and has conducted research into alcohol-related brain damage, executive dysfunction and malingering.
The CFT Scorer was inspired by the observation that the CFT is a popular and valuable test, but users often rely on clinical judgment about the strategy or approach taken rather than using formal scoring systems. These scoring systems suffer from one of two problems - they are either too simple to provide worthwhile information, or they are so detailed they are time-consuming to learn and to use.
Joe initially developed the CFT Scorer for his own use, and then decided to refine it and make it available to other clinicians. Unfortunately the programming language used for the initial version became obsolete, and Joe had to start from scratch while running a busy practice and undertaking research.
Any feedback, especially good but bad as well, would be appreciated! We are keenly interested in any research using the CFT Scorer.
